I have for a while had skin that hasn’t been perfect and can at times been really problematic, for me I have learned that I cannot use products that are too harsh for my skin as this is likely to burn and scar which ends up making everything 10 times worse than what I was originally having to deal with. My skin is the prime example of combination with dry patches around the chin and then a super oily T-zone area that if I don’t keep blotting throughout the day, by the end of day I just look as if I’m someone who had just smothered my whole face in oil.
During the winter my skins seems to be at its worse, being pale and incredibly dry which can mean this makes my makeup apply even worse and can look cakey where it clings on to try patches. So I needed to look for something to rescue my skin or you could say I needed some winter revival products to help my skin recuperate. So I decided to go for a product which was one of my forgotten favourites, the Manuka Doctor brightening oil. I had used this oil in the past when I had first seen it introduced over here in the U.K., which was around the time Kourtney Kardashian had become their brand ambassador. As you know anything that the Kardashian-Jenners seem to plaster their name on will sell the brand or at least increase the notability.
Manuka Doctor comments on their website that the brightening oil will achieve a brighter, fresher and more youthful looking complexion, with the oil’s “Hero” ingredient Manuka oil. Even though the oil is advertised as an anti-aging oil to reduce the look of dark spots (which you tend to get with age, the sun or for me they seem to be hereditary). Only being in my early 20’s I personally feel that this oil can be used by any age as it has ingredients that are there to target particular skin problems.
The Anti-oxidant rich oil helps to protect against the oxidative damage, while the deeply nourishing essential oil promotes skin flexibility. Manuka Doctor says after using this oil your skin will feel refined, appears more even toned and luminous. It is said that the oil is designed to suit all skin types, so there is no reason to not try this powerful anti-ager for visible skincare results (which can sound slightly daunting with the use of the word powerful, but don’t be put off). Some of the key ingredients are Manuka, Argan, Tamanu, Avocado, Rose Hip, sunflower oil and a huge range of other oils. With the inclusion of vitamin E, which to add, is great for your skin. Previously I have used a vitamin E cream which didn’t react well with me, but with this oil I have had no reaction.
As I had used this oil in the past I knew the amount that worked for my skin and when it is best to use the product. What is great about this oil is it does not leave your skin feeling greasy and absorbs into the skin within a couple of minutes. After cleansing and toning my face, I tend to use two to three drops that I will put onto my finger tips and will gently massage into my face, neck and décolletage until absorbed. For me if have found that it’s best I only use the oil at night and on its own as a night oil. Manuka Doctor advises to use the oil both morning and night and under a cream, for me I find the product moisturising enough to use on its own. But like I said it’s probably best to try it out at different times and amounts to find out what works best for you.
I have found within weeks of using this product that it does what it says on the bottle, making your skin look brighter and luminously healthy. During the winter it can be hard to get that glow and this product is essential to get this when it’s freezing outside. Also if like me you have problems with getting those awkward spots that scar, this is a great oil to help those scars fade quicker.
I would recommend this without a doubt and I can’t wait to try some of Manuka Doctor’s other products.
